Amazon Solution Architect SAP on AWS, Specialists Team Europe Central in Zurich, Switzerland

Description

As a Specialist Solutions Architect focused on SAP within AWS, you will have the opportunity to accelerate our customer's adoption of SAP services on AWS, be it natively or as part of SAP RISE. The emphasis is on working directly with customers to develop cloud migration and/or adoption strategies as it relates to their business-critical SAP systems. SAP Specialist Solution Architects at AWS typically do not only work on their customers' SAP strategy, they also oversee the overall IT environment and look for options to integrate AWS services including GenAI to optimize business processes.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in both SAP solutions and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills that will enable you to represent AWS well, not only to customers and IT executives but also to the broader SAP community including SAP, developers, and architects. The ideal candidate should also have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

The role is based in Switzerland, however can also be based out of Poland or Greece.

Key job responsibilities

As a Specialist Solution Architect SAP, you will be responsible for designing solutions to support customers to bring their SAP workloads to AWS. Specialist Solution Architects are deep technical experts in SAP technologies who work with customers every day and collect demand signals influencing the AWS product roadmap and strategic partnerships for SAP Services. You will also identify gaps in AWS products or feature sets based on customer insights and partner with internal product teams and account managers to win strategic customer workloads. You will be working closely with Specialist Sales experts to deliver the desired customer outcomes. You will develop thought leadership and assets in the context of the SAP service domain and will be speaking at public events.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

About the team

The role is part of the Europe Central Specialists team. This team positions AWS as the best place to run crucial workloads such as SAP, GenAI and Data. Our team helps customers to adopt AWS cloud capabilities at scale.

The Specialists team includes business development, specialist sales, and specialist solutions architecture experts. You’ll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience and deep knowledge of SAP systems (SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP NetWeaver/BASIS Administration, SAP sizing, etc.).

  • Broad experience with SAP RISE

  • Experience working backwards with

Enterprise customers with highly available fault tolerant systems and experience with SAP migrations and upgrades with SAP High Availability Architectures

  • Presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences in fluent English (german preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad experience in infrastructure and database architecture, technical pre-sales, technology transformation, enterprise solution blue printing, or Solution Architect experience in the software or cloud industries.

  • Experience writing, publishing technical whitepapers, and evangelizing.

  • Previous experience architecting the benefits of cloud for SAP workloads.

  • Experience working for SAP or with SAP in a Technical Architect/Solution Engineer/Customer Support role.

  • Bachelor’s degree, certifications, or similar experiences desired.
