Key Responsibilities

The Applications Sales Leader for ALPS will be leading the Applications Business Unit in Switzerland. As the Business Leader for the Apps BU in this county, he/she is responsible for developing a business plan and a go-to-market strategy that enables him/her to achieve the revenue and margin goals set for the unit and drive sustainable customer loyalty.

Ideally, he/she will have an in-depth understanding of the drivers and issues faced by Oracle’s clients. He/she will have the ability to sell solutions to senior executives or at board level. He/she will also bring an experience managing sales and global accounts teams as well as selling through indirect channels and partners. He/she will have operated in a formal or informal matrix organisation context and have an experience managing through influence rather than direct control. He/she will be a great motivator, leader at all levels and can constructively drive change through an organisation. He/she will have dealt with the press, media and public communication. Working with social partners/worker councils will have been part of his/her job as much as has the understanding of labor laws, practices & relationships.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Brings people together across geographies and disciplines to achieve results as a team and share best practices by driving customer success outcomes enabled by Oracle cloud

  • Agrees individual tasks based on previous experience and shows them how their work fits in with what the whole country organisation is doing

  • Develops measurable customer-specific key performance indicators

  • Anticipates evolving customer needs and how the organisation can address them with current or new products/services

  • Delivers performance that stands out in the Swiss market

  • Energized by creating a recognised organisation, so that higher levels of performance are possible

  • Introduces incremental improvements to enhance business performance, using robust analysis and benchmarking

  • Acting as a trusted advisor. As technology becomes more and more persuasive in running organisations, clients expect solution providers to act as advisors and partners. The role is to act as a trusted advisor to its customer and advise them on important technology decisions. He/she should be close to the key decision-makers: CIOs, CEOs, business owners

  • Supporting clients in their transformation. Oracle should deliver value to its customers by offering innovative solutions. He/she should contribute to business growth by delivering value to the customers via innovative solutions (cloud for instance)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • The Applications Sales Leader Switzerland will have to inspire, motivate, and energize his/her team. You will need a deep understanding of the local German Swiss Market place.

  • Representing Oracle Apps in Switzerland, he/she is Oracle’s main representative and ambassador for his business unit to all external stakeholders, e.g. customers, partners, governmental bodies, social partners, media, the community and internal stakeholders, e.g. employees

Education

A Bachelors’ degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manages and develops a team of sales representatives including recruiting, hiring, and training new reps on the Oracle sales process. May manage a Regional Manager or Branch Manager. Sells and promotes the sales of Oracle products to customers including negotiating price, other concessions and terms and conditions of the sale. Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the division. Builds working relationships with license, consulting and education field managers in the respective territory to develop joint account plans. Develops and execute a territory plan to maximize revenue. Generates and achieves monthly territory forecasts, and accurately predicts revenue on a monthly basis. Manages escalation. Conducts weekly progress meetings with sales team.
