WBITVP Belgium is part of the Warner Bros. International Television group of production companies which currently operate in 13 countries around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden and UK (“WBITVP Group”).

WBITVP has the exclusive rights of all WBITVP Group television formats including non-scripted formats of all genres (including reality, factual, factual-entertainment, studio-based entertainment and game-shows) and scripted formats of key genres including, comedy, sitcoms and drama. Key brands include non -scripted titles First Dates, Repair Shop, I can see your voice, Bachelor, Sing again scripted titles , Red Light, Dertigers, Flikken, 1985, Chantal, Eigen Kweek .

Your New Role...

The position is Finance Manager for Warner Bros. International Television Production Belgium, across the non-scripted and authentic fiction productions (further named as “WBITVP”). They will have overall responsibility for FP&A, monthly reporting, production & operational finance across these slates. They will also work closely with the Senior Controller who supports the Scripted and Theatrical slate, and help prepare financial reporting information for this area as directed by the CFO.

The position is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are accounted for on an accurate and timely basis, that the budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes deliver valuable and correct information/data and to support senior management, ITVP and the rest of the wider community with reports and analysis that help in managing the business towards its strategic goals

The individual is also responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations and local GAAP.

The individual will partner with the CFO on all FP&A and reporting matters, and with WBITVP GBS Finance team who are responsible for accounting and corporate finance matters.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Financial reporting

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting of financial performance of the non-scripted and Authentic Reality entities under US GAAP and WBITVP Accounting Policies/Guidance.

  • Manages financial reporting of the slate and correct revenue recognition for production and other revenues, including preparation of funding templates for scripted- and non standard titles.

  • Works with Central Europe Hub Controller and ensures correct accounting treatment of all financial postings, and with ITVP FP&A to confirm monthly accounting close sign off on a timely basis.

  • Management and reconciliation process between the Just Produce & SAP accounting systems. Escalates any issues appropriately.

  • Preparation of the monthly management reporting and monthly review with the CFO and the ITVP Business Partner.

  • Reviews and responds to financial performance comments/questions received and acts as point of contact for Business Partner.

  • Attend GBS Finance Quarterly Balance Sheet review calls, providing supporting information for balance sheet positions as needed.

  • Manages cash flow activities including operational cash management and cash flow forecasts.

  • SAP BW Reporting & Analysis as needed to support close process review & sign off (P&L’s, title reporting, & film asset/WIP reports), management reporting and cash forecasting.

Planning and forecasts

  • Responsible for quarterly forecasting cycles across the non-scripted and authentic reality businesses. Support the CFO in preparation of forecast slate, models, labour planning & recoveries templates, and intercompany allocation schedules and related variance analysis.

  • Oversee production Finance, and support budgetary process for IT, HR, post production and Facilities (incl. real estate),

  • Review of forecast materials with CFO in advance of all submissions to ITVP FP&A and review and responds to Business Partner comments/questions.

  • Responsible for monthly cash reporting and forecasting, including monthly forecast template submissions and variance analysis to ITVP FP&A, including reconciliation of Operating Income to Free Cashflow.

  • Responsible for TV production banking activities (bank & payroll signatory), including local cash management, and approval and release of payments for the various business units. Including forecasting and tracking any intercompany financing loan drawdowns/repayments.

Production and operational finance

  • Preparation of capital expenditure request submissions and supporting business cases as needed.

  • Contribute to commercial decision making process & challenge production teams in the achievement of targets set by the Managing Director and CFO.

  • Be responsible for ensuring production finance, and operational systems, controls and processes operate in accordance with company policies and WB corporate guidelines and ensures that the company follows group policies for operation of Just Produce (production accounting system) and related P2P processes.

  • Review & provide oversight for TV production payroll and other employee fringe costs for employees

Other compliance and control

  • Working with the WBITVP GBS Finance and tax teams to coordinate, monitor and ensure accurate and timely local tax compliance

  • Work with the WBITVP GBS Finance teams to ensure the necessary inputs to the statutory accounting, audit and tax reporting processes occur on a timely basis

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Finance qualification with 8 years+ experience

  • Experience in TV production industry in Belgium is an asset

  • Experience of having worked in a multinational organization with ability to, manage teams through change and lead the local business process initiatives would be an advantage

  • Proven track record working successfully with senior business leaders, creative heads, operational and financial management

  • Responsibility for end to end financial planning and reporting processes for both P&L and cash.

  • Strategic thinking capability with good overall business skills, but with a “hands-on” attitude

  • Able to lead and build a motivated team; an enthusiastic “builder”

  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deal with the various internal and external stakeholders

  • Worked in an environment with strong compliance and controls focus. Able to assess financial risk in business and production processes and to follow up with appropriate mitigation and controls.

  • Teamwork: to be happy and willing to take on any matter however trivial or important in order that the team together can achieve its goals.

  • An infectious enthusiasm for the television sector.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong excel skills.

  • Strong personal motivation. Ability to work in multiple stakeholder environment and collaborative approach to relationships.
