Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking to recruit a highly qualified and motivated CAE engineer, specializing in mesh generation. You will work in Development Support’s Discretization department to verify that spatial discretization (meshing) methodologies meet the highest quality standards and help deliver highly technical software support services to a global client base.

The Development Support team provide high level support that helps ensure the transfer of technical knowledge and expertise between the Solution Domains Development organization and the rest of the company.

You will collaborate closely with software developers throughout the development cycle of Simcenter STAR-CCM+, to help ensure that new features of the code are well understood. This includes demonstrating the use of newly implemented software features and their functionalities, in addition to verifying that new features behave as their designs intend.

You have experience in meshing and running industrial CAE simulations and be comfortable working with engineering applications of varying complexity. You have an in depth understanding of CAE (ideally CFD) and the different mesh topologies and spatial resolutions required to accurately simulate physical phenomena. You have a can-do attitude and must be able to manage multiple CAE meshing related tasks simultaneously.

Meshing methodologies such as surface preparation, surface meshing, or volume meshing are not new to you. These methodologies can be applied to any number of different applications and industries such as batteries, gas turbines, aerospace, and ground transportation.

You’ll help our customers drive digital innovation and have a tremendous impact by:

  • Ensuring newly implemented Simcenter STAR-CCM+ code developments are well understood. Emphasis is given to verifying new code development works as designed throughout the development and release cycles.

  • Triaging customer issues submitted to the development teams.

  • Supporting internal customers.

Your qualifications

We would love to hear from you as a dedicated engineer with a postgraduate degree (PhD, MEng, MSc or equivalent) in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Marine Engineering or other closely related fields, as well as a prior industrial or research experience working with CAE software .

  • You should come with an ability to find innovative approaches to problem solving and to show initiative in overcoming challenges. Proven ability to work autonomously and to prioritize different projects is essential to the role, as well as good organizational skills.

  • Thanks to your excellent communication skills in English , you build positive relationships with your colleagues, and you can lead multi-functional teams projects, regardless of reporting structure. You are a strong teammate and creative problem solver who can work with multi-cultural, dispersed technical teams.

  • You are also bringing experience in: Using Simcenter STAR-CCM+; Meshing complex industrial CAE geometries ; Supporting and/or testing CAE meshing software; Understanding of theoretical and numerical fluid dynamics; Basic programming and/or scripting skills – Java, C++; Working in a Linux and Windows environment.
