UCHealth Surgical Technologist in Woodland Park, Colorado

Location: UCHealth PPRH Main Hospital, US:CO:Woodland Park

Department: PPRH Operating Room

FTE: PRN, 0.0, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex; The position is scheduled for 8 hours every Thursday, with the potential for additional hours as needed, though these may not be consistent.

Pay: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.

  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.

  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED or Military trained.

  • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

  • 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program. Preferred: Ortho experience.
