GROWING defense firm is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join their team located in Woodland Hills, California. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities within the legal industry, particularly in handling personal injury defense cases. Offering a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, this role provides the flexibility to work remotely with occasional in-office meetings and depositions.

Responsibilities:

• Represent corporations in personal injury defense cases, with a focus on retail liability, habitability, products, railroad litigation, and restaurant/hotels.

• Meet billable requirements with a focus on law and motion.

• Conduct depositions and court appearances as needed.

• Review and summarize medical reports in a timely and accurate manner.

• Propound and respond to discovery in line with the legal guidelines and timelines.

• Attend trials and ensure all legal proceedings are accurately documented.

• Leverage Case Management Software, Legal software, and LexisNexis in handling cases and managing legal information.

• Regularly update the management system to ensure all case details are current and accessible.

• Prepare briefing documents and other legal documents related to civil litigation.

• Utilize civil litigation experience to provide effective legal representation for clients.

Requirements

• Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Must be licensed to practice law in California

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney

• Proficiency in case management software and legal software

• Experience with LexisNexis and other legal research tools

• Familiarity with management systems used in legal settings

• Demonstrable skills in briefing, documenting, and civil litigation

• Prior experience as a litigation attorney is essential

• Must have civil litigation experience, preferably in a corporate setting

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

• High ethical standards and professional integrity

• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
