Title: Laboratory Supervisor / Laboratory Manager

Location: Woburn, MA

Schedule: M-F Full Time, occasional weekends and evenings

Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

• Cord blood processing and storage

• Processing units, in addition to supervisory responsibilities, such as hiring, training and managing lab staff

• Validating, initiating, and optimizing processing and testing of units, hiring and training staff, and increasing lab capacity

• Will have 5-20 lab staff in the future

• This is an international organization with many years of experience in many European countries starting a brand new US operation. The entire operation is being built from the ‘ground up’- new laboratory, new staff, etc.

  Requirements:

  Experience with umbilical cord blood banking, as well as processing and storage of cord blood

  7+ years‘ experience in clinical blood bank laboratory in all areas (processing, testing, storage, release, etc.) and cellular therapy (stem cell) laboratory

• Current certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or similar; ASCP certification strongly preferred

• 3+ years‘ experience in people management (lab staff), preferred

• 5+ years of experience overseeing all technical aspects of tissue bank operations under the supervision of a medical director, preferred

• Ability to ensure quality control management and to set up corresponding processes

• Experience in ensuring the validation of laboratories, processes, procedures, and equipment

• Ability for teamwork, multitasking, regular reporting and performance of assigned tasks on time and in the required quality

• Experience with laboratory inspections, audits, proficiency testing, etc.

• Experienced in communicating with regulatory and licensing offices and official certification authorities is welcome
