Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description
This is a Part-Time Medical Assistant position for the Winter Haven Clinic. The ideal candidate must be flexible, dedicated, and professional. The primary function of this role is to perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in the maintenance of chronic disease management, examination, and treatment of the pediatric patient population. Specialty training is applicable.
Responsibilities
Interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation.
Update medical records to include chief complaint, current medications with drug name, dosing, route, medication and food allergies with reaction and severity, vaccine, medical, surgical, family, social histories, any barriers to care, and home status.
Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, hospital inpatient and/or ED discharge records, diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review, and treatment follow-up as needed.

Phlebotomy
MA Diploma/Certification or a minimum of 3 years MA experience
Active BLS certification
Active and valid driver's license
Knowledge of EMR
Understanding of medical terminology

Attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
This position requires working Monday through Thursday from 1-7pm and Saturday from 8am-12pm, or Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 1-7pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 8am-12pm, and every other Saturday from 8am-12pm. The role involves patient-facing responsibilities and working indoors. The position requires operating a computer, exposure to hazards, reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift/carry 10 lbs. or less. The job also involves sitting, walking, squatting, and kneeling.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24128.00 - $33176.00
