In this senior position, the ideal candidate will deliver manufacturing engineering solutions inCNC machiningby applying PandW's established practices. They should understand SMED, external setup, quick-change tooling, and cutting tool kitting processes to enhance production uptime. The candidate will also aid in developing an auto deburring program to eliminate manual deburring time. They will utilize a validated Blade IBRs machining process as a template for similar parts, encompassing processing, FAI, PFMEA, and leading to approvals and implementation. The role involves working with PW Engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures, providing engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for customers. The candidate will be responsible for driving improvements in all manufacturing processes, including those affecting products, equipment, and product quality. Additionally, they will capture customer requirements, draft commercial/technical proposals, and oversee their execution.
Work Experience
- Understand the PW engineering strategy and proven process that minimizes process variations.
- Good decision-making capabilities in preparation of process with CNC programs and CMM programs
- Ability to create characteristic matrix and identify feature-based severity and key process variables - KPC / KPV
- Ability To Interpret GDandT from model-based definition (MBD) and traditional definition 2D drawings
- Ability to read and understand specifications and standards of Aerospace manufacturing
- Good understanding of key processes, controlling methods, methods of measurement, inspection strategy to create and implement control Plans / Inspection Plans
- Has sound knowledge in process development and approval process through to shop floor release.
- Support the investigation of all non-conformance reports and all responses using proven problem- solving methodology.
- Ability to analyze shop floor data in the form of various RFT data, RAG charts, six pack analysis reports and suggest process improvements and fool proof methods for non-conformance reduction
- Ability to create charts using Minitab
- Ability to integrate the various BiQ tools with other processes such as Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Ability to review and approve FAIRs/LAIRs and PPAP as part of process and product validation
- Thorough understanding of APQP process
- Ability to understand Customer requirement and author the State of Work (SoW) and author the Technical and commercial proposals for the organization
- Ability to monitor, execute and present the work status to the agreed Key Performance Indices (KPIs)
- Ability to manage and guide the set Team members
COMPETENCIES and SKILLS
- Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes and Manufacturing readiness level (MRL)
- Fully conversant in reading and understanding Engineering and Manufacturing Drawings
- Sound knowledge interpreting the GDandT (standards ASME Y 14.5, JES 161)
- Sound knowledge in measurements system analysis (MSA)
- Hands on experience in using all types of measuring and testing equipment, both contact - non-contact, analogue and digital
- Able to support root cause analysis and implementation of problem-solving techniques like 8D
- Conversant with Time studies, OEE, Factory layout within Industrial Engineering and activities related CAPEX management
- Working knowledge and experience of using QC tools and SPC analysis
- Hands on experience of working in CFTs for creation of PFMEA and control plans
- Working knowledge on concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques
- Sound knowledge and experience of working on FAIR, LAIR, APQP, PPAP
- Awareness of aerospace requirements (AS9100, various ISO)
