UPMC Mental Health Worker Associate - Pine Partial and IOP in Wexford, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

Wexford Acute Partial and IOP supports adolescents experiencing acute symptoms of depression and anxiety. Our program supports adolescents in stabilizing their mental health before stepping down to a lower level of care, such as outpatient. A main goal of our program is to assist adolescents in maintaining safety without the need for psychiatric hospitalization.

Our programs are evidence based and focus on teaching adolescents skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Our treatment team is made up of:

· Mental Health Workers who facilitate group therapy and support our patients on the milieu.

· Behavioral Health Therapists who facilitate family therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, and coordinate follow up care.

· The Developmental Specialist who assists patients in completion of schoolwork and coordinates care with the patient’s home school district

· Psychiatric nurses who support day to day medication and health concerns

· Psychiatrists who provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management while the patients are in the program.

This is a full-time position, located on Perry Highway in Wexford. The dress code is business casual and parking is free on-site behind the building. The schedule is Monday through Friday with daylight hours and the expectation to work until 5:30 PM two to three nights per week to help support the afternoon group.

Responsibilities:

· In cooperation with the team, develop, assess, facilitate, and monitor group activities for the patients.

· Monitor daily progress notes, data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned patients. This includes but is not limited to educational, behavioral and skills development programs as well as research protocols.

· Work effectively and cooperatively in a trans-disciplinary environment, served by the supervision of several senior staff.

· Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the patients.

· Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients, and visitors to the Institute.

· Coordinate the data management involved in program evaluation and report these findings to other clinical community members.

· Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.

· Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency)

· Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling and education or related field required.

· Minimum of One year of experience in mental health or related field preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

· Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

· Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

· Act 33 with renewal

· Act 34 with renewal

· Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
