Tufts Medicine Occupational Medicine Medical Assistant in Westford, Massachusetts

Job Summary:
In this role you will work closely with the Occupational Med Navigators to deliver accurate results. You will be responsible for servicing established client relationships with employers in the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. Areas of focus include occupational medicine, preventive/well care and worker’s compensation referrals. Works collaboratively with Medical Director for Occupational Medicine and the Director, Physician Services to provide clinical and administrative leadership to support the business/operational functions of the Occupational Medicine Department at Lowell General Hospital.
Prepares the room to be used for the service scheduled
Bring patients into room, check their name and date of birth, verify reason for visit, and obtain vital signs
Assists providers during examination and treatment
Performs ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Provider/scheduled by the client such as EKG, drug testing collections, audiograms, blood draws, etc.
Applies bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating provider.
Completes records
Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and decontamination of equipment, and stocks rooms with required supplies.
Performs drug screen collections for both DOT and Non-DOT drug screens, according to DOT guidelines; ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
Completes required certifications; becomes proficient in clinic systems and procedures, and maintains currency in all policies, practices and procedures
Hours: 36 hours/week. Mon-Fri between 8am-430pm
Location: 198 Littleton Road, Westford Urgent Care.
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Certification
High Diploma required
2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
