Central Admission Manager for the Northern Region of CT
Summary
Assists Clinical Evaluator in processing admissions and communicating information to receiving center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive incoming referrals from hospitals, community agencies, and families.
Processes admissions and performs verification of benefits/authorization.
Coordinates the pre-admission process to include clinical information to identify care/service needs, pharmaceutical and DME requirements, and financial information.
Follows the Pre-Admission Acceptance and Escalation policy and obtains approvals from a clinical and financial perspective consistent with NHCA’s preadmission process.
Ensures that the pre-admission paperwork is complete a required by National HealthCare’s policy including all data entry of demographics.
Embraces NHCA’s sales philosophy.
Documents data in CRM and communicates pertinent referral information to Clinical Evaluator in the absence of the Admissions Director, assumes all duties and responsibilities as necessary to maintain the efficient flow of inquiries and admissions to the facility.
Communicates new admissions and re-admissions with on-site Director of Admissions
Keeps Director of Admissions informed/updated on various activities as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What You'll Bring:
Qualifications of an Admissions Coordinator include:
Business Administration degree and/or 3-5 years related experience in long-term care
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility
Empathy for the needs of individuals and families during the transition process
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
