Description Do you have excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to grow in your field? Join one of our Paper/Packaging clients as a Payroll Clerk and become an essential support for the Payroll department. This permanent position is a terrific opportunity and is based in the Watsonville, California area. Entering data, reconciling timecards, distributing paychecks, and providing statements to various departments are among the duties of the position. To effectively work with other team members as well as outside customers, solid communication skills are required.

How you will make an impact

• Provide clerical support by filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.

• Train and instruct employees in the proper use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

• Maintain payroll information by contacting employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals

• Carry out other duties as assigned

• Build and run custom reports

• Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

• Retrieve reports as instructed by administering and/or distributing

• Previous payroll experience

• Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

• Solid understanding of Timekeeping software

• General familiarity with California Labor Law

• Expertise in Timekeeping System

• Deep understanding of Process Bi-weekly Payroll

• Paychex Payroll experience

• Process Biweekly Payroll experience preferred

• Adeptness in Paychex

• Demonstrated knowledge of California Labor Law

• Practical knowledge of Manual Checks

• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

• Outstanding data entry skills

• High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

• Eagerness to master new systems
