Job Description
CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Senior Associate or Associate Principal to be based in Washington, DC. We are seeking candidates with experience in project management, transaction advisory, and corporate and project finance, with a sound understanding of renewable energies and other clean technologies. Experience in international trade and trade finance would be an asset. Initially, the candidate will primarily manage implementation of the Clean Tech Energy Network, a program to foster export and investments in the cleantech energy space from the U.S.A. to Africa. The candidate is expected to support other advisory engagements and business development efforts.

Primary Responsibilities
Project manage the Clean Tech Energy Network (CTEN) in the U.S.A.
Map the cleantech energy sector in the USA to identify company hubs, business associations, research hubs, etc. as priority areas for CTEN engagement
Engage with U.S. cleantech energy companies and other organizations to promote CTEN, understand business needs and identify opportunities for CTEN support
Contribute to disseminating CTEN market information services across networks
Organize CTEN participation and support relevant companies at conferences and trade shows
Lead organization and execution of direct and reverse trade missions between the U.S.A and Africa in coordination with other USG agencies and CBA offices
Assist U.S. companies in developing and responding to opportunities in African markets, through a range of services, such as: undertaking market analysis, defining go-to-market strategies, assisting response to business opportunities, identifying partnership opportunities, structuring transactions, supporting the capital raise process, etc.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Senior Associate candidates should have 5+ years of experience working in top tier banking, consulting, private equity and experience working in developing countries.
Associate Principal candidates should have 7+ years of similar experience.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or another advanced degree strongly desired
Experience working in developing countries
Demonstrated leadership skills; preferably in fast-moving and complex environments
Excellent time and project management skills, with capacity to advance multiple work-streams at once
Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issue
Excellent quantitative skills; ability to apply analytical rigor to complex and uncertain tasks
Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
Knowledge of corporate finance and familiarity with company evaluation and valuation techniques
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments
Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing context
Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high impact sectors
Sound understanding of the renewable energy sector and clean energy technologies
Experience in international trade and trade finance would be an asset
