Overseas Private Investment Corporation Strategy Intern in Washington, District Of Columbia

Responsibilities This position is located in the Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) on the Strategy Team, reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy (DCOS). The DFC is the U.S. Government's development finance institution and works to mobilize and facilitate the participation of American private capital and skills in the economic and social development of emerging market economies. As a Strategy Intern you will be responsible for helping to drive the agency's investment and portfolio strategy to advance foreign policy priorities and development impact. The Strategy Intern will: Advance special projects at the request of the DCOS, and at times, at the request of the COS, CEO and members of the CEO's team, requiring engagement across a wide set of organizational stakeholders to advance strategic priorities, working across DFC departments to operationalize DFC's strategy. Analyze the tactical and operational planning processes to assess DFC's execution on strategic objectives and provide guidance, data, and recommendations regarding DFC program and policy operations. Contribute to the development of timely and comprehensive implementation plans which effectively use human, physical and financial resources, and work effectively with other offices to achieve common objectives and assure that allocated resources are efficiently deployed and productively utilized. Support execution of administrative and operational priorities and serve as a key office liaison, ensuring smooth project management and coordination with agency leadership and offices throughout the organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate program. The ideal candidate should have a concentration in business, economics, international relations, development policy, or other related subjects. Strong written, research and oral communication skills are required. Strong ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Successful completion of a background investigation is also required. Some knowledge of and/or experience in project and corporate finance, and specific sectors and countries is desirable but not required. Individuals with initiative and the ability to work independently are preferred. Education ARE YOU USING YOUR EDUCATION TO QUALIFY?
