We are seeking a Principal Platform Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our Active Directory environment at GE Appliances. This role will focus on domain configurations, identity integration, and email management, playing a critical part in defining and executing short- and long-term strategies. As part of the Advanced Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering function, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers across various domains, ensuring seamless integration and robust operations. Additionally, you will oversee administrative tasks and provide guidance to our MSP Operations & Support team.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, prioritizing the retirement of legacy services and reducing technical debt.

  • Develop, support, and maintain the Active Directory infrastructure, integrating identity, security, and governance requirements across the enterprise.

  • Provide strategic guidance for establishing and managing a multi-tenant-based email management platform, including integration with various SAAS solutions.

  • Offer directional leadership for support and operations teams, and provide operational support for critical application platform services as needed.

  • Drive automation efforts for continuous deployment of infrastructure and collaborate with experts to design robust, scalable, and secure solutions in a multi-cloud environment.

  • Act as a cross-platform data center architect, troubleshooting Active Directory and Operating System integrations.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 10 years of overall experience in Information Technology.

  • 7 years of direct experience administering, operating, designing, or managing Active Directory implementations.

  • 1 year of hands-on experience developing solutions in the cloud or similar environments.

  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Puppet, Ruby, PowerShell, and GitHub.

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or related specialty certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in programming languages (Java/Ruby/Perl/Python/NodeJS/C#), relational databases, and Unix.

  • Experience architecting compute environments, including Windows and Linux servers.

  • Expertise in 3-tier Windows and Unix environments, including Web servers, Data, and Application Servers.

  • Experience with Windows Server OS, Group Policies, build automation, and Terraform.

  • Familiarity with Azure or AWS compute, storage/database services, and Cloud Formation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a penchant for innovation.

  • Working knowledge of modern development tools and practices such as GitHub and Jenkins.

  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills.

This is a remote position, with the expectation of working EST hours.
