Disney Entertainment Executive Assistant, Social Media (National Geographic Content) in Washington, District Of Columbia

National Geographic is seeking a dynamic executive assistant who is looking to begin to establish a career in social media. As a key contributor to the team, the assistant serves a critical role as a primary point-person for the entire National Geographic Social team. You will provide best-in-class scheduling, support, organization, planning, asset management, campaign assistance and research to help keep the team and all the work being done on it, run smoothly.

There will be an opportunity to learn about social marketing and work closely with the team to develop experience and knowledge in the space. The ideal candidate will be a strong organizer and planner with a passion for making sure things are running well.

Responsibilities:

Provide overall administrative support for the VP, Social Media including but not limited to:

  • Scheduling meetings across multiple time zones, departments, and brands while respecting the need for flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.

  • Answer/roll calls while generating a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

  • Manage all worldwide travel arrangements and trip tracking/oversight (flight, hotel, car, meeting coordination) and all related expense management.

  • Assist other social leads with day-to-day team needs.

  • Assist with team event planning as needed.

  • Help manage agency relationships, SOWs, and budgets.

  • Work with the social marketing team as support on planning and organization.

  • Coordinate with teams across the department on schedules and planning.

  • Stay updated on social trends and platform changes.

  • Update department documentation (rollout documents, presentations, campaign plans)

  • Assist the social title team with additional tasks as necessary as well as serve as back-up for other department assistants when needed.

  • Prepare and track expense reports.

  • Set up meetings, submit drive-on passes and various other administrative tasks.

  • Interact with a wide variety of Disney and external contacts on behalf of the executive.

  • Handle internal and external communications with high degree of diplomacy.

  • Handle confidential and other sensitive information.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in an administrative capacity.

  • A keen interest in social media and marketing.

  • Creative, proactive, and independent thinking.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Strong creative writing skills.

  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form.

  • Ability to build and manage relationships.

  • Extreme attention to detail.

  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft outlook, word, excel, and keynote.

  • Knowledge of social media landscape.

  • Strong scheduling and planning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience supporting an executive in entertainment.
