Meta Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer, Network in Warsaw, Poland

Summary:

Meta is actively seeking to expand its global team of accomplished Network Engineers into Warsaw, Poland. This team is at the forefront of reimagining the architecture of our enterprise network's external connectivity and the ways the enterprise users interface with Meta's resources. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with a focus on backbone and internet routing for our enterprise offices and campuses distributed globally.

Required Skills:

Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer, Network Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and manage the global network infrastructure with a focus on backbone and internet routing.

  2. Develop and maintain network architecture and infrastructure plans capable of supporting large-scale distributed systems.

  3. Troubleshoot network issues and outages, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

  4. Collaborate with other engineering groups to ensure our network infrastructure continues to support applications and services effectively.

  5. Monitor network performance and integrity, and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  6. Ensure all network infrastructure is compliant with industry standards and best practices.

  7. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

  8. Participate in on-call rotation for network support.

  9. Build tools in support of network data analysis and production execution

  10. Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network and tooling issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

  2. 3+ years of professional experience in network engineering, with a focus on backbone and Internet routing.

  3. 3+ years experience in understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures.

  4. Proficiency in MPLS Traffic Engineering, BGP and OSPF routing.

  5. Proficiency in Python, or other similar programming languages.

  6. Experience in designing, deploying and operating networks at scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  2. Experience with troubleshooting problems as relates to at least one networking system or platform (IP, Optical, Web servers, load balancers, storage systems etc).

  3. Experience with developing software in the context of building and/or operating large scale networking systems.

  4. Experience with secure tunneling and VPN protocols.

  5. Experience with SDN technologies, including SDN controllers, network function virtualization, SDN applications and protocols such as OpenFlow

  6. Experience with building network capacity modeling systems using Python libraries such as (Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn, NetworkX, SimPy, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Scapy).

  7. Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration.
