Texas A&M University's School of Public Health (http://health.tamu.edu/) is actively seeking a Training Specialist to join our team at the National Community Health Worker Training Center. Here's your chance to play a pivotal part in driving the center's mission forward!

We are seeking a passionate Training Specialist to join our dynamic team to help shape the development, design, and implementation of our training program. This role collaborates closely with leadership to support project activities, from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring excellence at every stage. We are searching for candidates ready to contribute their expertise to crafting training materials, resourcecs, and reports, focusing on the center's mission.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND t wo years of experience in training, teaching or course development or related areas.

    A well-qualified candidate would also possess two years of program administration experience, certification as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and/or Community Health Worker Instructor (CHWI), bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, and experience working within a State of Texas Certified Community Health Worker training program/site, with additional experience in CHW curriculum development and providing trainings.

Responsibilities:

Project Support

  • Supports training center leadership in project oversight including task delegation, deliverable management, project compliance, and training promotion.

  • Assists with managing the online learning management system (Canvas) to provide online, self-paced continuing education units to CHWs.

Training Curriculum Development

  • Leads the training center team in the development of CHW trainings including creation, packaging, and distribution of CHW trainings, toolkits, project summaries, case studies, best practices, and other resources.

Training Provision

  • Develops, reviews and evaluates training materials.

  • Delivers classroom and individual training to clients.

  • May develop online training programs.

  • Assists in identifying training needs of clients.

  • Coordinates training program schedules.

  • Maintains training records.

Reporting and Dissemination

  • Monitors training reports (registrations, pre and post-tests)

  • Assists the training center team in developing project training reports.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
