U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command Test Administrator in United States

Summary About the Position: Administers written or computer based Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Enlistment Tests at Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or other remote testing sites to determine individual qualifications for military service enlistment. This position does not provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis". Intermittent employees are not eligible for benefits. Responsibilities Conducts specified aptitude examination sessions ranging in size from 1 to 40 person (enlistment tests), and 1 to 250 persons (student tests). Instruct applicants on testing procedures and starts, observes, times, and ends the test or test segment as directed. Utilize computer systems and software to administer computer-based enlistment and student aptitude tests. Responsible for the security and accountability of student test booklets, at home, during transport, and at the testing location. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, 1) Presenting oral instructions to individuals and/or groups; 2) Conducting thorough checks to ensure forms are properly completed; and 3) utilizing automated systems to provide reports/information to others. OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Literacy Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Integrity/Honesty Speaking Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
