Summary This position is in Office of Mission Support (OMS). About the Office of Mission Support | US EPA. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). *EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section. Responsibilities You will: Provide advice and guidance on workforce solutions, inclusive excellence policy development, planning, and coordination, and a variety of other matters and projects/assignments as they relate to the programmatic responsibilities of Workforce Solutions and Inclusive Excellence (WSIE). Provide advice and consultation to the Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) and WSIE senior management to identify problem areas, develops and recommends solutions and specific policies in relation to highly urgent and sensitive operational or program areas of interest. Manage and lead high visibility projects and assignments for OMS Immediate Office (IO) senior management on matters of special concern or interest. Conduct assessments and advises the AA and PDAA on the probable effect within the AAship and the Agency. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement. Qualifications NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing expert advisory services at various levels, supporting program requirements for administrative operations for internal and external stakeholders and managing/leading organizational projects relating to special interests or concerns. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of workforce solutions and inclusive excellence Ability to provide advice and guidance to senior leadership Knowledge of a wide range of administrative laws, policies, precedents, and practices applicable to business operations Skill in identifying and resolving issues Skill in planning, organizing, and directing programs or projects Skill in development, implementation, and assessment of strategic and special assignments Ability to coordinate with partners and stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement Ability to advise senior leadership and management Ability to assess project results Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
