What we want
The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for an Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology team. The Postdoctoral Research Associate performs investigations related to infectious disease projects. This role focuses on several ongoing projects in host-pathogen interactions related to viruses, phage, tuberculosis, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens.

Required Education and Experience:
- Appropriate PhD
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical laboratory skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD, D.V.M. and/or M.D
Record of productive experience in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology of pathogens preferred
Responsibilities:
Research
Conducts independent research on mycobacterial, viral and other respiratory pathogens, and publication of results
Designs, develops, and conducts research experiments
Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures
Research Data
Collects, compiles, organizes and analyzes data
Documents, summarizes, and interprets results
Maintains experimental records and documentation
Writing
- Participates and assists with the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and publications of scientific data in peer-revised journals based on research
Collaboration
Attends laboratory meetings and departmental seminars
Interfaces with collaborators to advance projects
Participates in projects involving lab personnel
Performs other duties as assigned.
