About the job

This position is needed to build and deliver Voice and Video functionalities to our customers through the JavaScript SDKs. Programmable Voice and Video are few of Twilio’s foundational channels that empower our customers and internal product team to build delightful solutions. The features you deliver will be used by thousands of customers at scale, often as their business’ lifeline. Use cases range from contact centers to healthcare services, from warehouse staff to client advisors.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Use your skills and creativity to solve problems and build functionality into Twilio’s Voice and Video JavaScript and ReactNative SDKs that are used by customers on major desktop and mobile browsers.

  • Lead the design, development and shipping of significant new features with predictable velocity

  • Own the SDKs’ technical backlog and architectural roadmap.

  • Work closely with a talented team of cross-functional engineers, designers and product managers.

  • Mentor junior engineers by providing thoughtful code and design reviews, influencing their careers.

  • Continuously adapt to the evolving JavaScript ecosystem to maximize engineering efficiency

  • Manage CI/CD pipeline

  • Enhance automated tests with high level code coverage

  • Own Twilio’s customer’s developer experience

  • Monitor and triage customer issues and Git repo issues.

  • Enhance Twilio Voice and Video reference apps

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • 8+ years of software development experience using JavaScript to build cross-browser applications.

  • Extensive experience with Typescript and JS frontend frameworks/libraries like React, Angular or VueJS

  • Experience with backend using JS frameworks like. Node.js and express

  • Solid experience creating REST APIs and using WebSockets

  • Experience creating unit and integration tests using technologies like Mocha, Karma, Jest.

Desired:

  • Prior experience creating SDKs.

  • Experience with automated test tools like Selenium, Detox.

  • Experience with React Native App test framework.

  • Experience with canvas and webgl2 APIs.

Location

This role will be based in Colombia.

Travel
