Job Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director for Intercollegiate Athletics, the Head Women’s Golf Coach directs all phases of the day-to-day operations of the Texas A&M University—Kingsville golf program. The head coach is expected to recruit and retain exceptional student-athletes while promoting academic and athletic excellence for the program. The Head Women’s Golf Coach will work with the Executive Director for Intercollegiate Athletics and other administrators to support the overall goals and objectives of the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Head Women’s Golf Coach directs all phases of the day-to-day operations of the Texas A&M University—Kingsville golf program, including but not limited to:

  • Effective coaching and student-athlete development;

  • Successfully recruit, retain, and graduate high-performing student-athletes;

  • Create and maintain a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete academic performance and conduct;

  • Preparation, organization, design, and implementation of effective practice plans, off-season programs, scouting reports, and recruiting systems;

  • Effective and timely budget management, equipment oversight, and travel planning;

  • A commitment to community engagement, fundraising, and effective public relations;

  • Adherence to NCAA II, Lone Star Conference, TAMUK, and TAMUS policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Education - Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution;

Experience - Two (2) years of college coaching and recruiting experience;

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills; Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Registrations, Certifications, & Licensures - Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; Four (4) to six (6) years of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience; NCAA recruiting certification, CPR, First Aid, AED; Prior NCAA II coaching experience.
