Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • This position is entry level in the Ethics & Compliance office. A Sr. Ethics & Compliance Coordinator is a potential promotional opportunity based on experience, leadership, export control certifications and excellent annual performance reviews.

  • Assists with reviewing high risk visiting scholars and international visitors, including conducting restricted party screenings through internal software.

  • Assists with reviewing high risk employment of foreign nationals by conducting restricted party screenings through internal software and processing using Workday.

  • Assists with setting up UIN/NetID access for visiting scholars and visiting scientists when requested.

  • Reviews departmental inventory for items needing export controls review and export control classification numbers.

  • Reviews and assists in updating both sponsored and non-sponsored project compliance items.

  • Reviews and assists in Material Transfer Agreements, both incoming and outgoing and reviews other contracts documents for export controls.

  • Assists AgriLife departments to create technology control plan documents and schedules site visits.

  • Reviews and screens International Wires for Export Controls concerns.

  • Reviews and approves AggieBuy purchases for Export Controls.

  • Performs administrative functions to include assisting in maintaining files in Laserfiche, Export Control Risk Assessments, technology control plan renewals and training updates.

  • Reviews International Travel by running restricted party screenings and performing open-source searches on related travel.

  • Assists in running restricted party screenings and open-source searches for departments as needed.

  • Assists with reviewing and approving system access for new foreign employees through internal notifications system.

  • Assists in reviewing and filing of the screening results from our on-line restricted party screening database.

  • Assists in communicating with other system members on export control related topics.

  • Other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:-Bachelor's degree in applicable field such as Business, Agriculture Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus an additional two (2) years of related experience in audit, administration, program management, export controls or risk and compliance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in applicable field such as Business, Agriculture Sciences and more than two years of related experience in audit, administration, program management, export controls or risk and compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills.-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

-Ability to travel when required (less than 5% per year).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Knowledge of internal TAMUS data systems, such as FAMIS/ Canopy, Concur, Maestro, Workday, etc.

-Skill set to learn new systems as needed, e.g. iRIS, Texas Fleet Management System, Diligent, etc.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

ITAR or EAR certified
