eSentio Director of Information Governance Consulting in United States

We are seeking a Director of Information Governance who will report to the CEO and be responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with decision makers at Am Law 200 firms in order to provide sophisticated technology and professional service solutions. 

Every member of the eSentio team is a professional and is expected to proactively manage their own work outcomes and quality, while collaborating across the organization.

As a member of the senior management team, provide leadership and guidance on operational issues, business strategy, policies and practices affecting the organization with a strong focus on process improvement and service excellence.  This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Drive business development activities.

  • Improve and monitor company operations related to project management and execution.

  • Mentor staff and providing feedback for annual employee reviews.

  • Financial analysis and review.

  • Develop and implement operational targets and long-range plans aligned with the organization’s strategic plans.

  • Meet billing and utilization goals.

  • Consulting with clients to design and implement information governance systems and best practices.

  • Evaluating existing information governance policies and best practices and developing recommendations for problem resolution, enhancement, and fine tuning and presenting recommendations to clients.

  • Designing, documenting, implementing, deploying, and, when applicable, managing implementations of information governance best practices for information governance systems.

  • Maintaining a high level of technical expertise, industry knowledge and professional disposition.

    Our candidate will possess excellent skills in all areas of the law firm information governance as well as knowledge of Privacy, IG compliance, and other statutory and ethics issues. Key criteria include:

  • 5+ years of experience consulting to large law firms on information governance policy assessment and development as well as system implementation efforts.  Experience with global firms is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of information governance issues facing large law firms including expertise in the management of electronic records.

  • Knowledge of the leading information governance systems in use at large law firms, including system implementation efforts. Knowledge of products such as MS Purview, FileTrail, iCompli, IRM, Legal Key, InTapp, Elite, and Aderant.

  • CIP, IGP,CIPP, CIGO certifications.

  • Understanding of the business of law firms, including risk management issues.

  • A track record of speaking and writing on law firm information governance issues, including speaking at conferences such as ALA, AIIM, ARMA and ILTA.

  • Experience in business requirements gathering and vendor selections.

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Juris Doctorate preferred
