Our iPay team is working to move to a more current and cloud-based infrastructure while maintaining our legacy server systems. We are seeking a talented individual to help us make this transition. This individual will assist our team with maintaining current systems and infrastructure, helping with migrations, pipelining, and identifying areas for automation and process improvement. The ideal candidate is motivated to improve legacy sysadmin tasks and is looking to grow their experience in the DevOps world and excited at the chance to grow along with our team.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location; however, this team works from 8am-5pm Eastern Time. Salary range for this position is $62,500-97,500 depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you'll be responsible for:

Continuous Integration and Deployment:

  • Participate in the Design, implement, and maintain automation tools and frameworks for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of software.

  • Work closely with development and shared services teams to streamline the build and release process.

    Infrastructure Management:

  • Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.

  • Work closely with the team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.

  • Implement and maintain version control systems, configuration management tools, and other DevOps-related technologies.

    System Administration:

  • Leverage system administration skills, particularly in Microsoft and Linux environments.

  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors and provide technical support.

  • Work with team to develop tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to internal back-end systems.

    Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop scripts to automate visualization and other repetitive tasks.

  • A proficiency in scripting languages is a plus.

    Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and address bottlenecks in the release process.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and document processes.

    May perform other duties as assigned.

    What you'll need to have:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of technical experience in systems administration, systems engineering, DevOps, or a combination thereof.

  • Must have experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration.

  • Must have experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  • Associate degree.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% for occasional team meetings and training events.

  • Ability to work typical Eastern Time hours (8am-5pm).

    What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Certifications in cloud platform technology.

  • Experience scripting for automation.

  • Troubleshooting release pipeline skills.

  • Experience patching servers and patching automation.
