Red Hat Content Strategist in India

Job Summary

The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for a content strategist to join us in Bangalore, India. The content strategist plays a critical role in making Red Hat's product documentation a competitive differentiator. The content strategist leads the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy that defines content deliverables to support key business objectives and reviews high-level development scoping information to determine initial resource requirements. The content strategist works with the functional program, content services teams, and customer experience groups to ensure content meets the needs of all internal stakeholders and, most importantly, provides an outstanding customer experience.

What will you do?

Lead people and projects in an open way that inspires confidence. Demonstrate negotiation, leadership and influencing capabilities.

Reviews high-level development scoping information and determines initial resource requirements to support initiatives.

Develop, socialize, and get approval for plans to achieve the quality standards and drive/support successful implementation of content plans and initiatives.

Lead or participate in special initiatives and change efforts for the Customer Content Services team.

Assess the audience for your program deliverables and presentations and communicate clearly, concisely, confidently and effectively in written and verbal communications.

Demonstrate complex problem solving skills in resolving cross-functional issues within the program and documentation teams and negotiation

Independently manage the Content Strategy for releases.

Develop, publish, and get approval for a content strategy plan of record from stakeholders and the documentation team members.

Define recommendations on content standards, needed improvements, and content gaps. Prioritize customer-related bugs and feedback from customer-facing stakeholders for continuous improvement efforts

Understand the impact of content decisions and strategy, not just within Customer Content Services but also to areas across Red Hat, like Support Delivery.

Curate content for display on the product page in the Red Hat website for each product release.

Act as single point of contact for stakeholders, provide Content Services approvals to program management teams, report status and negotiate changes to deliverables and schedules, communicate and get buy-in for the content plan to all relevant stakeholders.

Work with Support Product Leads to establish "content readiness" for new product releases and present content highlights and challenges during quarterly service reviews and program meetings.

What will you bring?

5+ years experience working with enterprise software documentation, either as a technical writer, information architect or content strategist

Familiarity with structured, topic-based authoring, information architecture

Experience working with diverse sets of stakeholders to solve complex problems

Ability to influence irrespective of job title

Familiarity with Red Hat's product portfolio a plus

Experience in the enterprise software industry, including an understanding of the customer lifecycle and knowledge of different content development and publishing methodologies, tools, and defect-tracking systems
