Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician
Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to provide supervision for our patients and to ensure their safety while building a rapport with them. This includes providing assistance to each patient in working with a group and in handling individual problems; responsibility for setting of limits for behavior; creating documentation of the patient’s progress; identifying the possible need for professional services and communications of such findings to professional staff. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.
Experience:
Prior work experience in other behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents a plus.
Experience in clinical setting treating anxiety and OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) called “exposure with response prevention,” or exposure therapy setting preferred.
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.
Education:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
Licensure/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
