Oracle Senior Trade Compliance Specialist in Thailand

Job Description

Acts as an internal and external resource on international trade specifications, regulations, and legislation; that affect how, where, and to whom we conduct business.

Designs plans for government outreach by providing analysis of emerging or existing legislative public policy issues impacting the company. Gathers intelligence and assists in the preparation of position papers, policy briefings, presentations, and legislative testimony for pending legislative actions. Coordinates actions through strategic partners in government and industry communicating corporate positions and objectives. Projects may include implementation of public policy activities, government and industry lobbying efforts, advocating government funding initiatives and identifying new opportunities favorably advancing the company’s influence with the government.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Prefer eight years of related experience.

Oracle Global Trade Compliance team is seeking experienced Senior Trade Compliance Specialist serving as focal point for Customs compliance oversight of Oracle declarations for Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and all APAC indirect countries. In this role, you will apply your skills in interpreting customs regulations to assess applicability and impact to Oracle to drive vital controls to ensure compliance with requirements. Senior level experience in harmonized tariff classification with local ruling review, and export licensing / permit applicability of computer, network and other hi-tech products.

As a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist, you will:

· Analyzing and resolving complex customs compliance issues to make recommendations for compliant, practical solutions to management and internal business partners

· Respond to all compliance inquiries from appointed import and export agents and customs brokers for assigned countries and regions

· Perform customs declaration audits on Oracle customs declarations and handle remediation with customs brokers

· Research and remain current on Thailand export regulations and eventual implementation of export licensing requirements

· Resolve import and export licensing/permit applicability, submit online license applications, and arrange payments of export licenses for Thailand, upon regulation implementation if Internal Controls Program in Thai language is required

· Assist in training Oracle Thailand employees and DHL on Thai export regulations

· Indirect APAC country trade compliance due diligence

· Support risk assessments from changes in business distribution model, manufacturing models, importer structure, and acquisitions

· Pursue continuous process efficiencies, automation opportunities and documenting compliance procedures

· Use your skills in interpreting customs regulations to assess applicability and impact to Oracle to drive vital controls to ensure compliance with requirements

· Experienced in analyzing/resolving complex customs compliance issues to make recommendations for compliant, practical solutions and corrective action to management/internal business partners in specified countries and regions

· Experienced in analyzing and implementation new customs and export control regulation requirements

· Demonstrated experience representing company in meetings with customs officials to present customs compliance facts, applicable business structure, financial transactions, and support of Harmonized Tariff Classification import/exported product during either a regulatory audit and/or ad-hoc requests from customs authorities

· Demonstrated experience in determination of import and export license/permit applicability for products within APAC region countries

· Experienced in performing customs declaration auditing

· Proven ability to meet deadlines

· Experienced working in a multinational company with a global remote cross-functional team

· Strong analytical skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills, in English and the local language of the placement

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

· Associate Degree and/or 5+ years of Customs compliance work experience

· Preferred experience using Oracle ERP and Oracle Global Trade Management systems. Ability to travel up to 25%, when required
