Oracle Gateway Advanced Support Engineer in Romania

Job Description

Oracle Services Engineering is looking for a Gateway Advanced Support Engineer with strong background supporting applications and databases running on Linux to join our exciting and growing group. We specialize in supporting a distributed population of gateways which are leveraged by Oracle flagship products including Platinum Services, Cloud @ Customer, Advanced Database Support, and Advanced Monitoring and Resolution.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge and experience supporting Linux applications, OEM, and Oracle databases.

  • Solid understanding of Linux administration and skills to monitor, configure and improve including csh or bash scripting, cron, OS file permissions, etc.

  • Practical use, configuration and deployment of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c

  • Basic SQL and understanding of sqlplus

  • Strong experience with networking, subnets, dns, troubleshooting network issues

  • Good customer skills with >3 years experience in supporting customer in a helpdesk like environment

  • Experience working in a production support environment with change control

Additional Skills: (strongly desired)

  • Oracle Advanced Support Gateway (installation & configuration)

  • Project management experience and technical documentation skills

Responsibilities

As a Principal Support Engineer, you will offer strategic technical support to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. A primary focus is to create/utilize automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues. You are expected to be an expert member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues. Services may be frequently provided by on-site customer visits.
