Job Description

Oracle Communications Unified Assurance is looking for java engineers with a microservices/kubernetes background. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production, strong understanding of OOP principles, and passion in solving difficult problems in areas of software integration. The person in this role will contribute to key features and improvements.

Requirements Java Developer - Microservices/Kubernetes engineer

  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

  • 3-5+ years of java development experience or degree in software engineering.

  • Experience with REST methodology

  • Proficiency in Linux command line

  • Working knowledge in some other stack languages (C++/Go/Python/NodeJS) would be an additional plus

  • 2+ years Experience with distributed microservices, kubernetes, docker, helm

  • Fluent English

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in debugging software applications

  • Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies

  • Experience developing distributed systems

  • Knowledge of APIs and API Security

  • Experience in network engineering/management (IPv4/IPv6 stack,BGP,OSPF,firewalls)

  • Experience in telco industries

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer, you will work on backend projects for new features & products developed by the Unified Assurance organization, create components microservice integrations and participate in all stages of product development. This includes collaborating with product management, partnering with other teams, and working closely with design, documentation, engineering, and QA to define, design, develop, and release the right products and features as needed at the right time.

The following are some of the day-to-day responsibilities within the Team:

  • Attending daily/weekly scrum ceremonies

  • Helping to define/triage/estimate work in the backlog

  • Write application code according to the coding standards

  • Write Unit and Functional test code to test the backend code they and others have written

  • Fix Defects and review the bug backlog

  • Participate in the code review process, validating the implementation and providing feedback

  • Breaking down work for the rest of the team in the form of Stories in the backlog

  • Leading other members of the team in the accomplishment of the work in the backlog

  • Assist and mentor other members of the team
