SunPower Associate, PH Payroll in Philippines

SUMMARY OF ROLE

SPWR ROHQ is seeking a Payroll Associate to join the Philippine Payroll Team in the Regional Operating Headquarters in the Philippines. This position reports to the Philippine Payroll Manager and works closely with the Payroll Team Lead, Human Resources Team, and includes interfacing with various employees and process owners for inquiries related to payroll under the Global Business & Finance Services (GBFS) organization. Maximum and strict adherence to confidentiality is a must, as the role will handle highly confidential data. The role also includes interfacing with various employees and process owners for inquiries related to payroll.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and validates payroll timekeeping reports for processing.

  • Supports the administration of the leaves in the GRID and timekeeping in the online system.

  • Assists the payroll supervisor and HR in coordinating with employees regarding payroll queries and/ or issues resolution.

  • Coordinates with HR on various requirements to include in processing payroll.

  • Supports the preparation of month end, quarter end, and year end close activities - prepares payroll journal entries for booking actuals and accruals timely and accurately, performs account reconciliation of payroll GL accounts.

  • Coordinates with and provides GL team with the necessary input to reconcile payroll GL account balances.

  • Assists the payroll supervisor in ensuring that all receivables from employees are deducted accurately and on time.

  • Ensures that all statutory deductions and loans such are processed accurately.

  • Ensures strict compliance to SOX controls. Participates on regular internal and external audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.

  • Involves/ Participates in payroll projects.

  • Performs other tasks that may be assigned by superiors concerning payroll related matters.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of BS in Accountancy or business-related courses.

  • At least a year of experience in Payroll or Accounting is a plus.

  • Highly ethical and adheres to strict level of confidentiality.

  • Customer service oriented.

  • Analytical, agile, assertive, and diligent with details.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel spreadsheet, Power Point, MS Word).

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • This is a project based employment

  • Candidate must be willing to work in Binan Laguna

  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines

  • Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)

  • Candidate must be flexible to work on a night shift schedule supporting North America region

  • Candidate will be on flexible work arrangement (combination of onsite and remote work) (if applicable depending on the nature of the job)

  • Tool of Trade: Laptop/Desktop, Extended Monitor, Headset (as needed)
