Enterprise Technology is looking for a hands-on and highly motivated individual who can work with a global team that is developing & deploying SAP S/4HANA for Ford's core manufacturing plants. The Data Architect will provide data driven design leadership. You will work with a large cross-functional team of Supply Chain IT members, a System’s Integrator and software vendors, manufacturing business subject matter experts, and IT leads from numerous integrating systems.

This is a hybrid position, the Data Architect will collaborate with colleagues and teams 50% of the time in our Chennai, India office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Data Driven Architectural solutions to meet company needs, ensuring system scalability, data quality, and performance.

• Create data models for database structures that fit with and mature the overall IT system architecture while growing business processes.

• Mature and implement data strategy. Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and database implementation.

• Practice data governance to ensure data privacy, integrity, and security.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, IT delivery teams, management, platform teams, architect peers, and external parties, to integrate data from internal and external systems.

• Be a practicing data technologist who stays up-to-date on industry trends, research, and developments to continuously improve system architecture - scalability, performance, and cost.

• Facilitate discussions to understand source of data, establish system of record, and create current & future state data flows.

• Lead design discussions, create conceptual data models, logical data models and data dictionaries.

• Provide data related consultation and guidance to product / delivery teams

MUST have:

• Overall 5+ years in IT. Recent experience including 2+ years as a Data Architect

• Strong knowledge of and experience with database technologies

​• The drive to follow an idea to its logical conclusion and ability to present to management in a clear and concise manner.

• Demonstrate ability on problem analysis/resolution and productivity improvements.

• Understand and closely work with PDO and business teams is a MUST

• Ability to work hands-on when needed to support the PDO team is a MUST

• Strong team player, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to continuously learn, innovate, and grow self and team is a MUST

• Willingness to be flexible and seek ideas/inputs from others and collaborate

NICE to have:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

• Data-Centric Architecture experience

• 1+ years of experience working with SAP S4 HANA experience.

• Google Cloud Platform technologies experience / knowledge

• Automotive industry experience or similar manufacturing industry experience.

• Experience working in a global team and an onshore/offshore team model.

• Experience working with a Systems Integrator

• Data Analytics experience

• Strong project management skills with effective communication and collaboration

• Respect and empathy for team members, business partner and product customer

• Excellent at problem solving and prevention.

• Knowledge and practical experience of agile delivery
