Fujitsu Storage & Backup Engineer in United Kingdom
Storage & Backup Engineering
Work From Locations
Work from home and on CLIENT site work. The site will either Stevenage, Bolton or Bristol.
Shift work expected and this is working to a Rota maintained by the support team.
The service support is 7am to 7pm but weekend work and out of hours work is expected (Fujitsu wellbeing practices apply)
The CLIENT Account will also be moving Fujitsu to be on 24x7 Support in the near future. Skills
Technical – Desired
Storage
Proven expertise in managing NetApp storage solutions, particularly in VMware environments.
Familiarity with Cohesity or similar backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and related storage technologies like NFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
Experience in IT infrastructure monitoring, management tools, and data protection protocols.
Ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues effectively.
Familiarity with both Windows Server and Unix/Linux operating systems.
Backup
Strong experience in managing and administering Cohesity backup solutions.
Familiarity with VMware environments and Cohesity integration.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
Experience in Cohesity software patching and upgrades.
Capacity management skills with the ability to optimize backup resources.
Experience of the Backup\restore elements of a disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Experience in IT infrastructure monitoring, management tools, and data protection protocols.
Familiarity with both Windows Server and Unix/Linux operating systems.
Experience and soft skills.
Knowledge of Fujitsu build standards.
Team working ability to work within multidisciplined teams.

Storage
NetApp Storage Management
Installing, configuring, and maintaining NetApp storage systems.
Monitoring system performance, managing volume configurations, and implementing storage efficiencies.
Ensuring data availability and integrity across all NetApp storage arrays.
Optimization of storage performance and guaranteeing minimal downtime
Upgrades and patching
Storage Documentation creation and maintenance
VMware Integration (NetApp related)
Configuring and maintaining VMware storage integrations specific to NetApp setups.
Optimizing and troubleshooting storage performance issues within VMware environments.
Collaborating with VMware administrators to ensure alignment of virtual storage and physical storage capacities.
Cohesity Backup Management:
Working with Backup Engineer - managing and configuring NetApp backup configurations.
Ensuring efficient, timely NetApps backups.
Performing regular disaster recovery tests and refining recovery procedures as needed.
Incident and Problem Management
Responding promptly to storage related support tickets and service disruptions.
Performing detailed root cause analysis for incidents to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborating with other IT departments to develop and refine IT infrastructure.
Capacity Planning and Documentation
Analysing and forecasting storage needs to assist in capacity planning.
Maintaining detailed documentation of storage architectures, configurations, and operations procedures.
Preparing regular reports on storage usage, performance, and health.
Root cause analysis troubleshooting database issues and providing timely resolutions.
Contribution to the design and deployment of database storage structures, backup systems, and security frameworks in line with IT security policies.
Maintenance of compliance with database vendor license agreements, including regular updates and patching of database software.
Backup
Cohesity Backup and Restore Management
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Cohesity systems.
Monitoring backup jobs, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing backup system performance guaranteeing minimal downtime. Ensuring on-time backups that do not over-run so as to affect user experience during their working day.
Upgrades and patching
Backup and restore documentation creation and maintenance
Working with Backups of NetApp storage and working with storage colleagues
Involvement with disaster recovery tests and refining recovery procedures as needed
Incident and Problem Management
Responding promptly to cohesity related support tickets and cohesity issues.
Performing detailed root cause analysis for incidents to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborating with other IT departments to develop and refine IT infrastructure.
Capacity Planning and Documentation

General
Attend Biweekly Engineering meetings providing progress updates on tasks in progress.
Attend CLIENT and Fujitsu sites as and when required to ensure deliverables are completed within timescales.
Raise immediately, any risks, issues that may impact (a) costs or (b) delivery to timescales or (c) overall solution deployments.
Assist in testing activities.
Raise change requests and present those at both Fujitsu and CLIENT change boards where required.
