The Role

You work in partnership with customers to define and execute a winning growth strategy. The Customer Development Manager – B2B will contribute to this by managing the relationship in line with our agreed contact strategy for existing customers, whilst actively prospecting new customers and territories to expand into in order to ensure a sufficient new business pipeline to deliver sustainable, long-term, double-digit growth in line with sales strategy. The role will actively research and target potential new customers and territories in line with our agreed sales strategy and Ideal Client profile.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Find and target potential new B2B customers. Use the sales strategy to engage with these prospects and add them to the B2B pipeline.

  • Find and target potential new territories to expand into. Use the sales strategy to understand route to market and country specific requirements.

  • Be the commercial lead in delivering new projects from the first contact with the customer, through product development, pricing, timings, delivery of final product and then managing the ongoing relationship.

  • Manage a group of current Contract accounts and Aldi & Lidl in line with the agreed contact strategy.

  • Deliver budgeted sales and contribution in line with company strategy.

  • Work with Supply Chain / R&D to ensure EJ are competitive in our offering, whilst ensuring we balance the needs to supply chain with appropriate MOQ’s, lead times, raw materials etc.

  • Develop and drive broad customer relationships across all levels with a key focus on building relationships at an appropriate level within the customer.

  • Execute the strategy for the customer.

  • Ensure the delivery of JCBP (Joint Customer Business Plan).

  • Optimize the use of resources in order to obtain more profitability in the operations.

With a heritage dating back to 1817, Ernest Jackson has 200 years experience and expertise in developing, manufacturing and marketing medicated confectionery and vitamin pastilles.

Ernest Jackson offers a wide range of well-known branded products, as well as a comprehensive contract manufacturing service.

At the factory site in Devon, Ernest Jackson has the capability to manufacture pastilles, sugar boiled lozenges and paste lozenges, made to exacting standards. Some product formulae have been handed down by generations and others to meet the ever evolving market requirements.

Based in the South West of England, Ernest Jackson currently employs over 150 people across two sites and is a member of the Mondelēz International family of companies.

Location

This role can be done remotely, or based at Ernest Jackson offices in Crediton, Devon. There is 25% travel within the role, ad hoc travel to customers, office in Crediton, meetings in Bournville, Birmingham. The team are located across the UK.
