Oracle Cloud Operations Leader, EMEA in United Kingdom

Job Description

Restricted Clouds

As companies and governments move more mission-critical workloads to cloud, there is increasing demand for protection of sensitive data in public clouds that span national borders and jurisdictions. OCI is an established leader in building cloud regions for customers who require the highest levels of security and have regulated workloads. We operate government regions in the UK and North America and have deployed our industry’s first OCI Dedicated Region, serving customers that include highly regulated companies and governments around the globe. To better serve our European customers, Oracle has launched new sovereign and restricted cloud regions in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day cloud ops execution, 24/7 coverage, capacity management, consistent response/structures, and streamlined support of (EU Restricted Access) EURA Cloud Regions Build and develop teams of cloud operators and site reliability engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance

  • Help launch dedicated cloud ops in new EURA cloud regions

  • Take a data and metrics-driven approach to constantly improve all cloud ops processes and procedures

  • Assist & manage relationships with external vendors & contractors

  • Publish monthly operations scorecards for each cloud region

  • Assist in implementing service methodologies that include incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Data-driven leader with direct relevant experience leading the delivery of cloud services at scale

  • Deep understanding of sustaining engineering, operations, customer support, integrations, plus building tooling and automation

  • Customer-centric leader with experience supporting cloud business globally with a strong focus on enterprise-level operations and support

  • Experience in managing cloud operations support for large-scale cloud service provider

  • Experience leading cloud ops strategy and execution across multiple locations

Education

BSc in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
