Position:Software Developer
Location:Vienna, VA
Overview:Asoftware developer at Group W routinely applies programming and software engineering expertise to architect, develop, and enhance defense analytic and workflow tools. Knowledge of a range of languages and web-based technologies is critical. Developers will work on a hybrid team with other software developers and modelers to innovative wargaming applications for multiple defense organizations. While this position will be based in Vienna, VA, occasional work in Dumfries and/or Alexandria may be required.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of software development experience in a civilian environment OR technical/IT experience in a military environment
- Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field
- Experience using at least two of the following: C++, Java,JavaScriptand/or Python
- US citizenship
Preferred:
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Department of Defense Secret clearance
- Experience with GraphQL
- Graduate-level coursework in computer programming
Responsibilities:
- Instantiate wargame mechanics to enrich the player experience and facilitate wargame adjudication processes.
- Design and develop a user experience to execute required player functions for the computer-assisted wargame.
- Integrate data mappings and exchanges between different DoD tools.
