Koniag Government Services Engineer Application Support in Vienna, Virginia

Kadiak LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Engineer Application Support with a Top-Secret Clearance to support Kadiak and our government customer in Vienna, Virginia.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and perform a day-to-day basic system check and troubleshooting all mission-critical applications to ensure they're available for end users.

  • Interface directly with client regarding troubleshooting and resolving international partner's issues

  • Identify manual processing deficiencies and institute automation techniques, which reduce manual labor and increase workflow efficiency.

  • Maintain and monitor production systems alert and provide triage support for priority-one (P1) and priority-two (P2) system outage.

  • Ensure production order processing between multiple systems occur without issues and resolve and escalates any issues that arise.

  • Monitor and execute schedule/requested jobs.

  • Analyze and determine priority to escalate failed jobs in the shortest possible time resolution to deliver a regular production cycle without delay.

  • Support update patches for operating systems and update system configuration to improve efficiency.

  • Provide technical support for applications with organization.

  • Monitor and assure the consistency of data transmissions.

  • Provide on-call support.

  • Manage on-call support roster.

  • Provide support over the weekend for planned and unplanned outages.

  • Perform and set up cron jobs, and user account maintenance.

  • Coordinate responses to user requests for assistance

  • Support testing to partner requests for assistance

  • Support CCD password reset every 60 days.

  • Support applications service account every 6 months

  • Document issues in tracking tool and monitor issues throughout solution and closure

  • Create SOPs and Job Aids to support daily-to-day tasks.

  • Work to resolve issues and take corrective actions to ensure customer expectations met.

  • Collaboration with Developer Team on research and implement solutions between usability and performance needs.

  • Create Python scripts to perform day-to-day tasks more efficiently.

  • Train new team members on the applications to ensure they are able to carry out day-to-day task efficiently.

  • Coordinate with depend system if a major incident has occurred and resolve the issue in a timely manner.

  • Perform log analysis to identity production issues and resolve them to minimize business impact.

  • Support Linux engineers to ensure production applications are function properly after patching.

  • Monitor Mark logic's flexrep to ensure healthy copies of data on multiple Mark Logic services.

  • Use Active Directory (AD) management console to manage accounts.

  • Work with network, window and database teams to conduct COOP testing in-house applications.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 3+ years related experience.

  • Prefer CompTIA Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
