PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager ASC Nursing for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $56.14 – $84.20. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Manages the coordination of activities in the ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) with responsibility for ensuring leadership in all clinical operations and for results including costs, methods and staffing. Responsible for operational performance, quality, service environment and regulatory compliance.

Details of the position:

  • Demonstrate compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse practice to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients with an interdisciplinary team and provide assistance to families and visitors.

  • Responsible for day-to-day clinical operations of ASC: supervision of personnel; staff performance and patient outcomes; staff procurement and retention; regulatory compliance; and patient care and safety. Evaluate work performance and conduct annual performance assessments. Delegate and coordinate responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.

  • Clinical Oversight of all operations within the ASC including PreOp/PACU, Operating Room, Material Management and Sterile Processing Departments

  • Manage staffing levels required to provide optimum patient care within the limits of available resources.

  • Assure quality of care by aligning ASC with standards of care; carry out adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments.

  • Coordinates with internal and external disciplines that are involved in patient care

  • Deliver financial results for area (s) of accountability.

  • Collaborates with ASC Administrator on strategic planning, budgeting and capital planning including equipment acquisition and development of new service lines

  • Assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives for the department and identifies, assesses, and responds to issues and problems which affect ability to meet goals/objectives.

  • Maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with departments within the ASC facilitating operational, quality, performance and change initiative implementation.

  • Oversight of staff orientation, training and competencies ensuring appropriate documentation and best practices

  • May perform patient care duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Nursing from accredited school of nursing

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Nursing from accredited school of nursing

  • Minimum of 3 years Required: Related Nursing experience in the surgical or operating room environment

  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Leadership experience

  • Required: Work experience which demonstrates progressive leadership responsibility i.e., in Charge Nurse or supervisory role in the ASC or operating room environment

  • Required Upon Hire: Registered Nurse current licensure in state of practice

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

  • Required within 60 Days: Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Preferred: Certified Perioperative Nurse CNOR or

  • Preferred: Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse CAPA or CPAN

Skills

  • Knowledge and competency in regulatory requirements for an ASC including CMS and Accrediting Bodies (i.e. AAAHC) (Required)

  • Demonstrate competence in area of expertise. (Required)

  • Strong problem solving, decision making and time management skills. (Required)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. (Required)

  • Proficient in use of computer including MS Office applications. (Required)

  • Ability to manage complex operations and diverse personnel. (Required)

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. (Required)
