    Position Summary:

    Responsible for the operational direction for the practice of nursing ensuring consistency and continuity of care and maintaining a high quality of care according to accepted nursing standards.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and

  • National Nursing Certification within 2 years.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered Professional Nurse with 3 years of managerial experience.

  • ICU Clinical Skills

  • Is responsive to professional and managerial staff and dedicated to improving patient care and service in the Hospital.

    Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and evaluates systems within the organization to plan for the delivery of patient care.

  • Maintains a professional and positive human resources environment within areas of responsibility

  • Ensures employees meet job expectations and employee satisfaction.

  • Ensures compliance with nursing and departmental policies as well as all required regulations imposed externally.

  • Directs employee development at the staff and management level.

  • Fosters a non-discriminatory climate to deliver socially and culturally sensitive care.

  • Ensures that customer satisfaction is promoted and demonstrated by all employees.

  • Customers are defined as patients, families, significant others, visitors, and other members of the public.

  • Evaluates self and staff using a systematic process.

  • Seeks to maintain or improve clinical skills of self and staff.

  • Assisting with budget responsibilities and efficient/effective resource utilization

  • Achieves quality outcomes; performance improvement; monitoring of quality and quantity of services; purchasing

  • Maintains equipment and positive working relationships with staff, physicians and departmental managers.

  • Assist in identifying and implementing best practices, new programs and services

  • Improve and enhance the quality of services that all patients receive.

  • Knowledgeable and accountable for achieving and maintaining applicable Illinois Department of Public Health code requirements.

  • Develops, implements and audits to ensure processes are hardwired and demonstrate compliance with IDPH standards.

  • Develops action plans to ensure quality measures are maintained.

  • Knowledgeable of and follows the ANA Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice.
