Responsibilities: Resident Nurse - RN - Residency Program (August 2024 Cohort) Join us as part of Seattle Children's one-year RN Residency program! A Nurse Resident is a registered staff nurse who has worked less than one year and has been hired into the Residency Program. In addition to the duties and responsibilities described in the Job Summary, the Nurse Resident will participate in didactic training, leadership development, mentoring, and teamwork to support transition into practice. Through direct mentorship and shadow experiences, as a Nurse Resident you will engage your pediatric curriculum and patient care orientation to help you develop into a pediatric nurse. The RN Residency Program is one year in length and focuses on preparing each new graduate for their role as a pediatric nurse. Please Note: Most departments will have full-time positions available (36-40 hours per week). Available shifts will vary depending on the needs of the department. We have the following shifts available: night shift, evening shift and day/night rotating shifts. Most departments will extend offers for night shift only. Job Description: As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care.
