JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Junior/Advanced, Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) developer to join Penn State’s System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting (SIMBA) team. The SIMBA team maintains and enhances the financial system of the University using SAP S4/HANA. The team is looking for a resource able to design, implement, document, test, and debug new or existing integrations as well as future enhancements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain and support existing software by resolving issues or updating to current standards and technologies

  • Provide maintenance, support, and consultation for integrations with third-party partners

  • Work with users to analyze their requirements and translate them to technical specifications

  • Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the existing solution

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting processes that improve overall efficiency

  • Perform code review and establish coding standards

  • Investigate data and/or program problems; determine the source of the problem and take corrective action

  • Develop technical documentation and instructions for end users

  • Provide technical guidance or direction to other staff

  • Communicate effectively with our great functional team to discuss different problems. take decisions and organize testing

Typical Education and Experience

The team is specifically looking for someone with ABAP OO and Unit Testing experience.

A profile having additional experience with one or more of the following topics will be highly regarded, even though not required:

  • SAPUI5

  • Ariba

  • Concur

  • Informatica

  • Mendix

  • SBP

  • ABAP parallel processing

  • SAP Gateway and OData

This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to enter a renowned higher education institution. The location of this position is flexible and can operate in a remote capacity within the United States. Standard working hours are in the Eastern time zone. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
