JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Center for Computational Mathematics and Applications (http://ccma.math.psu.edu/) (CCMA) in the Department of Mathematics (http://science.psu.edu/math) is seeking scholars for Postdoctoral appointments. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field (such as statistics, computer science, physics, and engineering). This position requires expertise in numerical methods for partial differential equations or data science with adequate programming experience.

Appointed candidates will work closely with the faculty at the CCMA on research related to numerical methods for partial differential equations or big data. The Postdoctoral Scholar will contribute to a number of research projects including the CCMA’s projects supported by the NSF, the DOE, and industries. These appointments may include the possibility of teaching. This is a non-tenure track appointment. This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
