Your Impact at SAM

We are seeking a talented Database Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our critical database systems. You will work closely with software developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure our databases meet the needs of the business and support our applications seamlessly. The ideal candidate must be able to perform these duties satisfactorily.

  • Design and implement efficient database structures and schemas to support application functionality.

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.

  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate database tasks.

  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing access controls, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.

  • Perform routine database maintenance, including updates, patching, and performance tuning.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Document database schemas, procedures, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest database technologies and trends.

What You Bring to SAM

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Database Developer or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts (normalization, data modeling, etc.).

  • Proven experience with SQL (Structured Query Language).

  • Experience with a popular database platform (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred knowledge:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

  • Experience with database performance optimization tools.

  • Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Salary Minimum

USD $130,000.00/per year

Salary Maximum

USD $150,000.00/per year
