Treasures 4 Educators dba Treasures 4 Teachers of Tucson (T4TT) is a nonprofit, membership-based organization whose mission is to support educators & students by providing access to affordable classroom materials and resources. As a donation-based operation, T4TT accepts donated and surplus items from businesses & individuals such as office supplies, arts & crafts materials, and other educational resources, ultimately helping educators stretch their budgets and enhance the learning experience for their students. By keeping these surpluses out of our landfills or otherwise wasted, T4TT provides community members with a sustainable way to dispose of unwanted materials and help our environment.

The Role

The Executive Director plays a crucial role in shaping the trajectory of T4TT by executing strategic plans, leads our resource center operations and maintains key relationships with donors & stakeholders across Arizona. Key responsibilities include ensuring the financial well-being of the organization, translating strategy into actionable initiatives in the resource center and overall shaping of our organization. The ideal candidate believes in supporting Arizona educators & students and the mission & values of T4TT, embraces a servant leadership orientation, and will focus on increasing fundraising and awareness to ensure long term success for our organization.

Impact Areas

Vision & Strategy: Working with the executive committee of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will:

  • Serve as the organizations primary spokesperson, effectively communicating T4TTs vision, mission, and values to donors, members, partners and the community at large.

{=html} <!-- --> - Periodically review the organizations mission & vision and strategic plan to ensure programmatic and partnership alignment. - Define programmatic, fundraising and organizational success using measurable outcomes encompassing both quantitative & qualitative measures. - Recruit and develop internal stakeholders, including staff, volunteers and members of the Board of Directors, ensuring they can effectively communicate the organizations mission and vision.

Leadership and Management:

  • Collaborate with staff, board & volunteers to define roles, required skills and opportunities for professional growth. Lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team to achieve strategic organizational and personal career goals.
  • Set & communicate clear, ambitious goals for staff & volunteers (Warehouse Operations, Membership and Receiving) as well as Board Committee Chairs (Finance, Fundraising, Events).
  • Identify and eliminate barriers to individual and organizational success.
  • Cultivate a positive and innovative work environment.
  • Actively engage & develop volunteers, board members, partners, and donors.
  • Manage daily operations of T4TT facility, which include retail management and center operations.

Fundraising & Communications: Working with the BOD and the Fundraising Committee, the ED will:

  • Participate in the creation of a fundraising plan aimed at expanding revenue-generating activities to support program growth. Fundraising activities could include but not be limited to grant writing, events, major donor relationships & corporate giving, legacy programs, etc.
  • Ensure the attainment of adeq ate funds to meet the organizations financial obligations.
  • Build trust and form partnerships with diverse stakeholders and funders. Serve as a compelling and authentic spokesperson for the organizations mission.

Finance: Working with the CPA firm, Treasurer or Finance Committee, and Bookkeeping firm, the ED will:

  • Develop annual budgets for programs and operations of the organization. Strategically allocate resources to meet both short-term and long-term organizational goals.
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements, providing periodic reports for the Board of Directors review.
  • Establish and maintain proper financial controls and policies within the organization.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual audits and filing of state and federal legal and financial documents, including IRS Form 990.
  • Implement strong budget tracking and effective expense management practices.
