Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Room Operator to join our team. The Chemical Room Operator will be responsible for receiving the parts into the work area, processing the parts per job order, inspect and pack them for shipment. The chemical room operator is also responsible for taking daily tank measurements and adjusting the process tanks as required.
The ideal candidate must be flexible, adaptable, hardworking, self-motivated, team player, and takes pride in their work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Follow work instructions from the job order.
- Review customer documentation to ensure the correct process is identified on the job order.
- Ensure parts are masked correctly.
- Rack, and un-rack parts.
- Complete job order paperwork.
- Run process controls when required by the job order.
- Take tank measurements daily and enter it into an Excel spreadsheet.
- Neutralizes solutions, separates solids from liquids, evaporates liquids and dry solids, and cleans the evaporative system.
- Adjust process tanks to keep them within the statistical control limits.
- Report out of tolerance parts to quality control.
- Proficient and knowledgeable regarding waste reclamation and processing such as; Separation tanks, Evaporators and evaporator ponds, Sludge removal, Proper labeling and disposition of drums.
- Keep work area neat, organized, and clean at end of every shift.
Skills:
- Basic math skills (counting of parts).
- Basic knowledge of acid/ base chemistry.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials.
- Proficiency in using various tools, gauges and fixtures used in the plating/chemical processes including; Anodization racks, Temperature control tanks, AC to DC rectifiers, Current/voltage controllers, Tank heaters and temperature controls, Air lines and hoses, pH & TDS meters, Thickness testers, Long copper and/or nickel-plated bars.
- Basic understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality system.
- Basic understanding of Mil and ASTM requirements,
- Proficient with all Mil-Spec primers and paints.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
Position Requirements:
- Maintains compliance with company policy regarding the use and application of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as: Long sleeves, aprons, face shields, boots, and gloves.
- Must be able to work part as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand for 8 10 hours each day.
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs alone.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
