Pay Range\ Hiring Range: \$52,251 - \$62,701 Annually\ Full Range: \$52,251 - \$73,151 Annually\ \

Salary offers are based on the candidate\'s equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.

\ Acts as an environmental specialist focused on climate, air quality, and environmental issues. Conducts technical work related to the development, review, and revision of emissions inventories, as well as planning and implementing programs and projects linked to climate and environmental quality. Demonstrates the ability to understand and apply environmental regulations and statutes, follow guidance documents and standard operating procedures, and effectively summarize completed tasks and monitoring data both verbally and in writing. Capable of preparing clear and accurate reports tailored to the audiences needs, presenting findings at public meetings, and managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.\ \ The first review of applications will be on10/18/2024.

Minimum Qualifications

(1) A bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science,environmental health, sanitation, public health, engineering hydrology or a closely related field as defined by the appointing authority at the time of recruitmentandthree years of experience in the environmental or health fields.\ \ OR:\ \ (2) Five years of professional experience in implementing or participating in environmental quality/health activities.\ \ OR:\ \ (3) Three years of experience with Pima County as a Wastewater Laboratory Chemist, Wastewater Laboratory Chemist Specialist, Environmental Analyst or Sanitarian, or a combination of experience in two or more of the cited classes.\ \

  1. Bachelor of science in atmospheric, environmental, or earth science or five (5) years of professional experience in implementing or participating in environmental quality activities.
  2. Experience with/knowledge of climate, air, and/or environmental quality-related tasks, projects, and/or programs including technical writing and presentations.
  3. Experience in collaborating with organizations, agencies (local, state, federal), and stakeholders in technical matters.
  4. Experience in community engagement, communication, and/or educational outreach related to environmental projects and programs.
