Aptiv Corporation Senior Mechanical Engineer in Troy, Michigan
Senior Mechanical Engineer. Troy, MI. Own start to finish development of mechanical interfaces, components, and system from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation, and high-volume manufacturing. Collaborate with engineering teams to design, validate, and manufacture products that meet customer requirements. Own design and 3D modeling of mechanical components, systems, and assemblies. Lead mechanical design analysis, including thermal, CFD, structural, design for manufacturing, and design for test. Solve power electronics packaging issues. Coordinate requirements and design review in each sample phase with DFMEA to ensure product quality assurance. Develop engineering and manufacturing test plans. Create drawing packages and initiate work instructions for the manufacturing team. Assist with engineering prototype builds and component fabrication. Support internal and external customer communication. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure design robustness and cost advantages. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements. Requires Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering and three years of experience with developing high-voltage electrical/electronics packaging, performing tolerance stack up analysis, and use of CREO, SolidWorks, and ANSYS Workbench.
