SERV Behavioral Health System Residential Manager - I/DD in Trenton, New Jersey

SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide on-site direct behavioral health care services to people with Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting. Provides oversight to home operations and performs duties in the areas of staff supervision, operational administration, home management, therapeutic intervention, teaching skills, documentation, Individual Habilitation Plan and/or Treatment Plan development. Responsible for providing daily structure and coverage to the residence, which includes supervision and assistance with living skills, personal care needs, case management, auditing medication, transportation service, crisis management, recreational and social activities. The Residential Manager communicates all significant behavioral changes in behavior level and notable incidents to the designated supervisory personnel.  The Residential Manager acts as liaison and advocates for community resources. The Residential Manager is also responsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations and corporate policies. Ensure that services are rendered according to SERV Achievement Centers’ mission and SERV BHS’ ethical standards. The Residential Manager will cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation. Performs additional duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will meet the direct service (face to face contact) expectation as determined by the annual goals. 

  • Oversees site scheduling as necessary and monitors client. 

  • Acts as a team leader.

  • Performs other duties, from time-to-time, be deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate well. 

  • Ability to document in the individual’s charts and treatment plans required. 

  • Ability to do simple math required. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.

  • Knowledge of current principles and practices of behavioral healthcare, specific to the developmentally disabled population.

    EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

  • Employee must be 21 years of age.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 years of experience.

  • Associate degree with 3 years of experience, and a High School diploma required with 4 years of experience.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey plus three year driving history and a driving record in good standing.
